Education Panel Meeting Minutes

Present:  Mrs. Tozer, Beth Bucciarelli, James Witzleben, Patty Delaney, Ann Marie Maier, Deb Hamby, Maryann Walkuski, Sergio Marcon

 

Absent:    None     

 

Teacher Representative:  Mrs. Karen Kliber

 

Guest Speaker:  None

 

Opening Prayer:  Prayer of the Council Fathers led by Maryann Walkuski

 

Approval of Minutes:  Deb Hamby seconded by Ann Marie Maier

 

Correspondences:  None

 

Principal’s Report:

 

·         We have 152 students enrolled.

·         New 4th grade teacher-Ms Kramer.

·         Sister Rosemary Cassal is on staff as a teacher resource person—she will be tutoring students who need additional assistance in certain subjects.

·         Curriculum mapping is being worked on with the teachers.

·         Defibulator training will start for teachers, coaches and lunch moms.

·         A safety book will be in place in the cafeteria for lunch moms.

·         The Student Council led by Mrs. Lewis will be working on the school entrance area.

·         Election for Student Council President will be on October 7th in the cafeteria.

·         Mrs. Tozer met with all the students to let them know about her expectations for the school year.

 

Catechetical Report:

 

·         Solemn Reconciliation – February 16, 2009

·         Confirmation – March 12, 2009

·         Solemn Eucharist – May 2, 2009

                                                        

Unfinished Business:

 

·          A full school picture is needed- Ann Marie will take care of it.

·          We need to advertise for new members for the Marketing Committee.

 

New Business:

 

·         Appointed Patty Delaney as secretary.

·         Education Panel will host Donut Sunday on February 8th, 2009.

8 a.m mass- Jim Witzleben , Ann Marie Maier, Beth Bucciarelli

              10 a.m. mass- Patty Delaney, Maryann Walkuski, Sergio Marcon

·         Marketing Budget will be approved by Msgr.

·         Goals for 2008-2009 school year:

1.      Purchase a free standing chalk board or dry erase board for the           computer room.

2.      School website improvements.

3.      Work on communication between the various school groups.

(ex: Education Panel, Parent Community and Sports Program)

4.      Need to have a Fair Improvement meeting in January.

5.      Work on items appointed by the School Improvement Team to the Education Panel

·         Begin creating a Technology Plan

·         Additional technology for teachers (training)

·         Create a Marketing Strategy Plan
