Tuition Assistance Information

1.  SCRIPS:  Kroger cards are available in the school office for a purchase price of $5.00.  Additional money is loaded onto the card at the register (card is pre-loaded with the $5 you purchased it for) to pay your bill.  A percentage of that amount is credited towards your school tuition bill.  You may also choose to purchase cards for friends and relatives, which would also help offset your tuition.

2.  K-12 Family Education Loan: Sallie Mae Services: This plan allows you to pay tuition expenses in monthly installments with little (5% max) or no interest, depending on your credit.  You can take up to 20 years to repay the loan. There is no prepayment penalty.  You may borrow as little as $1000, or up to the total amount of tuition. Please visit www.salliemae.com or call (888) 2-SALLIE.

3.  First Catholic Credit Union:   Offers tuition loans for as low as 3.5%.  Please visit www.firstcatholic.org or (800)607-0089

4.  Archdiocese of Detroit Endowment Tuition Assistance Program: Grants are $600 for elementary school, per year, for children belonging to a Catholic parish. The deadline for 2008-2009 is April 3, 2008. If you need an application, please visit St. Anselm’s school office.*

5.  2008 Community Caring Program Scholarship.  This year the Community Caring Program intends to award $1,000 scholarships to students in Southeast Michigan for tuition or enrichment experiences.  Application forms and transcripts/school reports must be postmarked by March 14, 2008.  6.  Education For A Brighter Future:  Provides assistance of 25%, 50%, or 75% of tuition, up to $1850.00 per year, through grade eight.  Eligible students are those entering kindergarten or attending a private school for the first time in grades 1-5, and residing in Wayne County.  The application deadline is April 14, 2008.  To apply, please call (313)883-8570. *

7.  Education Freedom Fund:  Provides up to $1000, per child, for up to four years.  Qualifying children are residents of the State of Michigan entering K-8, who qualify for the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program.  The application deadline is March 31, 2008.  Please call (616)459-2222 to apply.*
