This past Sunday, November 9th, 17 members of our Youth Group assembled tray favors for the Veteran’s. They made 221favors that were then given to Rose Solak. She in turn took them to Veterans Hospital and distributed them to the residents on Veterans Day!
The Youth Group was also treated to a very delicious meal compliments of Julie Marcy and Moe’s Southwestern Grill. A fajita bar was the special treat. The YG will also be having a fundraiser there (in Allen Park) in December to help fund our trip to the Rainbow Conference in February. As of Sunday, November 9th, we have 16 members of our Youth Group committed to attending the Rainbow Conference. If you are still interested in attending please call an adult leader ASAP to receive your packet of information. The early-bird date is Saturday, November 15. If you are interested in sponsoring one of our Youth Group Members attending the CYO Rainbow Conference you may due so by contacting Marcia Santostasi at 313-277-3844. This year is the XXVII conference and it will be held on February 14-15,
2009. The early registration fee is $91 and the hotel fee is $43 per person. Your help is greatly appreciated.
The CYO Rainbow Conference is where about 2000 teenagers from across the Archdiocese will gather to pray, learn about the Lord, have fun, and form or deepen friendships with other Catholic teens. Bishop John Quinn challenged the teens by doing two things: 1. Go to Mass every week-”not every other week. Every week.” 2. Use your talents for the good of others. Mass every week because “We need you in our parishes...We need your faith, your vocation, your energy, your commitment. You renew that in us.” Use your talents because “you have special gifts and certain talents...and that’s for the good of others. When you use those gifts, you can change the world.” At the CYO conference the teens commit themselves to be formed by Christ because with this commitment “marvelous things can
happen.”

We encourage all of our parish high school students to give Youth Group a try. You will make new friends, get reacquainted with old ones and are welcome to bring a friend along. More importantly you will be doing service for your parish and community. It is never too late to join, fill out the registration form and return to the RE office or Rectory.
